PadBot Robot Showcases AI Innovation
Recently, the Greater Bay Area Technology, Industry, and Finance Integration Forum and the official launch ceremony of the South China University of Technology (SCUT) Greater Bay Area Innovation & Industry Institute were successfully held. As an outstanding alumni-founded technology company of SCUT, PadBot Robot was invited to participate in the event, presenting its core technologies and demonstrating strong capabilities in the deep integration of AI + Robot solutions.
During the event, the SCUT Greater Bay Area Innovation & Industry Institute was officially inaugurated, alongside the strategic signing ceremony for the SCUT Innovation & Industry Fund. The institute aims to integrate technological, industrial, and innovation resources across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, while leveraging the strength of SCUT’s alumni network to accelerate the precise connection between innovation chains and industrial chains. This international-oriented platform is designed to support high-level technological self-reliance and industrial upgrading, creating new opportunities for alumni-led hard-tech companies such as PadBot Robot.
The newly established Innovation & Industry Fund has drawn particular attention. Initiated by SCUT together with distinguished alumni, the fund brings together government resources, listed alumni enterprises, and capital from Hong Kong and Macao. Guided by a long-term investment philosophy focused on early-stage, high-potential, and hard technology projects, the fund has already completed its first round of fundraising and formed a total capital pool exceeding RMB 3 billion, providing strong financial support for technological commercialization.
SCUT’s alumni network has long been a powerful driving force in the development of the Greater Bay Area’s industrial ecosystem. According to available data, more than 200 listed companies in the region have been founded or led by SCUT alumni, and nearly two-thirds of senior executives or technical leaders in Pearl River Delta high-end manufacturing enterprises are SCUT graduates. Against this backdrop, the establishment of the institute creates a vital bridge between academic innovation and industrial application.
As a representative alumni enterprise, PadBot Robot highlighted its hard technology strengths during the innovation showcase session. Founded by SCUT alumnus Zhanming Qin, PadBot Robot has remained committed to the university’s spirit of “seeking truth and innovation,” focusing on the commercial service robot sector. By continuously advancing core technologies such as autonomous navigation, intelligent human-robot interaction, and AI-based perception algorithms, the company has built solid technical barriers and grown into a benchmark enterprise in the hard-tech robotics field.
